Chicot Nature Trail (aka Lake Chicot Trail) is a moderately trafficked loop trail located near Ville Platte, Louisiana that features beautiful wild flowers and is rated as moderate. The trail offers a number of activity options and is best used from March until October. Dogs are also able to use this trail but must be kept on a leash.

Chicot State Park is located near Ville Platte, Louisiana. This wildlife reserve of South Central Louisiana features 6,400 acres of rolling hills surrounding a 2,000-acre man-made lake stocked with bass, crappie, bluegill, and red-ear sunfish.
