Location: In the Panhandle on SR 57 22.3 mi. N of Priest River to gravel rd. 057-022.

This trail utilizes, for the most part, an old road system so the trail is quite wide. High points along the trail are the Kaniksu Marsh, Priest River, and Chipmunk Rapids. Watch for moose, deer, and waterfowl that frequently use the marsh. A long loop can be done utilizing road 2244A but be aware that this road is open to vehicles.

Best Xcountry skiing in North Idaho
Resurrected after 25 years Chipmunk is now groomed by the Priest Lake Nordic Club. The trail system offers intermediate skiing with great views of the river and Selkirk Crest.
