The Goose Pond Colony Walking Trail is located on the grounds of Goose Pond Colony, a 326-acre public resort facility owned by the City of Scottsboro. The trail is a loop two miles long and eight feet wide. It winds thru wooded areas and cabins and is adjacent to the Tennessee River/Guntersville Lake. It offers campers, marina visitors, cabins and lodge guests, and day visitors an opportunity to exercise and enjoy the scenic and quiet beauty of the area. Bird houses were put in various places along the trail as part of an Eagle Scout project. Trailhead parking at both ends makes it convenient for a leisurely walk or a more vigorous run. The trail was constructed in 1990 with a Land and Water Conservation Fund grant.

Reviews
Walking Trail
Too many bicycles and golf carts on the walking trail. It is a bad experience when you are are trying to have a nice walk but you have to keep getting off the trail to allow bicycles and golf carts to go by or they come up behind you and scare the hell out of you.
Elderly walker.
Walking Trail
Very nice trail. Need more benches for the elderly to rest. Too many bicycles on the trail. Thought it was a walking trail.

Goose Pond Colony Nature and Walking Trail is located on a small peninsula on the shores of Lake Guntersville within a public resort. It is a fully paved, accessible trail composed of multiple loops and provides over two miles of recreation depending on the route chosen. The trail winds through wooded areas and along the shoreline, offering rest stops and observation areas/boardwalks to view wetlands and wildlife along the way. This site also is a stop on the North Alabama Birding Trail. There are three trail access points with adjacent parking areas, which are located near the park entrance, at the civic center and near the bridge before crossing over to the marina. The trail is open to pedestrian traffic only. Additional recreational opportunities at the resort include a golf course, marina, dining and camping/lodging options.
