The Halemau'u Trail covers 10 miles across Haleakala National Park on Maui to the Haleakala Crater, which is 2,600 feet deep. The Halemau'u Trail leads into the crater from the summit area and descends 1,400 feet over two miles of switchbacks.

The Halemau'u Trail covers 10 miles across Haleakala National Park on Maui to the Haleakala Crater, which is 2,600 feet deep. The Halemau'u Trail leads into the crater from the summit area and descends 1,400 feet over two miles of switchbacks. The summit of Haleakala volcano itself rises to 10,023 feet in elevation.
