Location: At Hunting Island State Park near Beaufort, E end of US 21

  • States: South Carolina

Located within one of the state's most popular parks, Hunting Island State Park near Beaufort, this quarter-mile boardwalk trail is an easy leg-stretcher into nearby estuarine islands and salt marshes. A naturalist at the park headquarters provides guided walks for visitors during the summer months. There are interpretative displays at two kiosks beside the boardwalk when a naturalist is not available. Fishermen and crabbers also use the trail for access to a salt creek where the trail ends.
