In the 1960s or 1970s, a troop of Boy Scouts built the trail named La Trainee de L'Explorateur, or the Explorers Trail.

In the 1960s or 1970s, a troop of Boy Scouts built the trail named La Trainee de L'Explorateur, or the Explorers Trail. The trails that encircle the Mt. Airy Forest are marked with white blazes or a red 'E'. The trails are marked only at intersections with roads. The current length of the trail is about 10 miles.
