This is a short relatively flat trail developed for the purpose of wildlife observation. The trail winds through pine islands, over wetlands, and along open water. Interpretive signs provide insight into the plant life along the trail. The trail can be used as a loop (Pine Ridge Nature Trail - 1.4 miles) or as a route from the Wigwams Access Area to the Visitor Center (Wigwam connector trail - .4 miles). A short section of the trail, starting from the Visitor Center, has been made accessible.
Pine Ridge Nature Trail. Travels 1.5 miles around part of F Pool managed pond and then winds through a variety of habitats including wetlands, and red pine forests, and offers a great view of the pools the Seney NWR manages for wildlife habitat.
Wigwam Extension. This 0.5-mile extension of the Pine Ridge Nature Trail takes you to the Show Pools and Wigwam Access Point north of the Visitor Center. The wigwam structures were built by the Civilian Conservation Corps in the late 1930s.
